Lucy Penna, junguian psychotherapist, has a Ph.D. in Clinical psychology from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil is the author of three books. Feminine consciousness and body soul interconnectedness have been the subjects of lectures and workshops in South America, Canada and Germany. Her research into archetypes of Brazilian collective unconscious led to the discussion of the application of Native symbols within environmental education. In 2002, she completed postdoctoral research under the guidance of Dr David Selby at the Institute of Global Education, OISE, University of Toronto. She emphasizes archetypes as educational guides for the opening of new attitudes toward plants and animals. Regardless of cultural differences, the universal archetypal symbols can be potent elicitors of positive changes in thoughts and feelings when wise applications are ethically possible. The author works as therapist and at the University Salgado de Oliveira, Goiania, State of Goias, Brazil. www.lucypenna.com lucypenna@terra.com.br. |
